What is radiofrequency ablation for uterine fibroids?
Uterine fibroids are usually benign growths. Some can be monitored; others cause heavy periods, pressure, pain or anemia that warrants treatment.
Radiofrequency ablation delivers controlled heat to targeted fibroid tissue. Treated tissue may shrink gradually. Unlike myomectomy, it does not remove the fibroid in one piece. Trinity's Korean service page describes treatment using MyoBlate.
RFA is an umbrella term: transvaginal, transcervical and laparoscopic approaches are not interchangeable. Ask which route and anesthesia are planned for your case.

Symptoms, hemoglobin and the number and location of fibroids all matter—not size alone.
“Could I become pregnant later?”
Discuss pregnancy plans before any fibroid treatment. RFA does not guarantee future fertility.
Is fibroid RFA suitable for me?
An OB-GYN reviews ultrasound and, when needed, MRI, together with your symptoms, fibroid number and position, previous treatment and pregnancy plans. Certain submucosal, very large or numerous fibroids—or an uncertain diagnosis—may call for another approach. Eligibility cannot be confirmed online.

Risks and recovery
Cramping, pain, discharge or bleeding can occur. Infection, injury to nearby tissue, ongoing symptoms and additional treatment are possible. Seek urgent assessment for severe pain, heavy bleeding, fever or faintness.

Frequently asked questions
Is RFA the same as HIFU?
No. RFA uses a probe to deliver radiofrequency heat; HIFU uses focused ultrasound. Eligibility is different.
Will my fibroids disappear immediately?
No. Targeted fibroid tissue may shrink over time. Other fibroids or symptoms may remain.
Can I become pregnant after RFA?
Pregnancy outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Tell the clinician if fertility is a priority before choosing a treatment.
Is fibroid RFA surgery?
It is a minimally invasive ablation procedure, not fibroid excision. Ask about the access route, anesthesia and risks.
How much is fibroid RFA in Korea?
There is no universal price; imaging, fibroid characteristics, anesthesia and treatment needs affect the quote.
How long should I stay in Korea?
There is no fixed duration. Discuss observation, follow-up and return-flight timing with your doctor.
